More than four people in your group?
Additional family members can be added for $50 each for up to ten people and $25 each for 10+ people. I love photographing big extended family portraits! Please inquire for more information.
How to book
I. Scheduling
Please complete my contact form with your shoot details and preferred date. If you're flexible or have multiple date options, let me know. The best lighting is during the last 1–2 hours before sunset, known as the “golden hour.” Timing varies by season, location, and weather, so contact me to confirm the ideal session time.
II. Session fee
A $200 non-refundable retainer is required to book your session. Once a date is set, you'll receive a link to approve your quote, sign the agreement, and pay the fee. Your session is officially booked once the retainer is paid. The remaining balance is due by your session date. Payments are securely processed online. Your session time is not reserved until the retainer is received and may be taken by another client who pays first.
III. Cancellation policy
If you cancel 14+ days before your session, your retainer can be transferred to a new agreed-upon date. If you cancel within 13 days, the retainer is forfeited as compensation for the reserved time. Exceptions apply for inclement weather, at the photographer’s discretion, allowing the fee to be transferred to a new session.
FAQ
Where are you based and what locations do you use?
I’m based in Monterey, California, and photograph throughout the county, including Carmel-by-the-Sea, Carmel Valley, Pacific Grove, Marina, and Salinas. I especially love shooting along our iconic rocky coastline and scenic tree-lined park trails.
How long will my session be?
Sessions are one hour long.
When will we get our photos?
You'll receive an email with a link to your online gallery within 2–3 weeks after your session (sometimes less depending on the season I photograph you in). You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them, choose your favorites, and order prints!
How many pictures will we receive?
Your one-hour session will result in 60–75 fully edited images.
Can I make my own prints?
You can print your photos through a third-party company, but I can't guarantee their quality, as printers and paper vary. For the best results, I recommend using our professional lab, which offers archival-quality prints designed to last. You will have the option to purchase prints, wall art, greeting cards and more through your online gallery.
Can I post my photos online?
Yes, feel free to share your beautiful new photos online! I’d appreciate if you tagged me so I can see them. Instagram: @rachelzeephoto.
Do you use Photoshop?
I aim to capture you naturally with flattering poses, angles, and lighting, so I rarely use heavy Photoshop editing. However, since it's inevitable that a zit pops up or your child gets a scrape on picture day, I will remove temporary blemishes. Advanced retouching is available for a fee.
What happens if it rains?
If rain is in the forecast, we’ll try to find a clear time that day. All-day rain is rare in our area, so we can usually work around it. If it does rain all day, you can reschedule at no extra cost. If rescheduling isn’t an option due to travel, I’ll refund your retainer. Rescheduling is at the photographer’s discretion.
